Photography and recording

Ekebergparken is a public park, and any inquiries regarding recording/photo shoots must be adressed to Bymiløetaten through byleie.no. Here are some concerns that one needs to take into consideration when doing so in a public park.

  1. It is important that the shoot does not interfere with other visitors in the park. In Norwegian public parks the right-to-roam is of importance. This means that it is not possible to ask visitors to move away from the area where you are working. It is also not possible to ask visitors to come back later. Should visitors come up to you while you are working, we ask that any recording or shooting stops until the visitor has moved on. There is a demand that any video recording/photography is done in a way that is suited to the visitors in the park and in a way that is not disruptive for the visitors. It is not possible to close off selected areas of the park.

  2. If you are filming or photographing an artwork displayed in the park, you will need to contact BONO to clarify and determine which rules and remunerations exists for each individual artwork. Most of the artworks in the park are subject to intellectual property laws. Please visit BONO’s website, bono.no, to learn more about this.

  3. Any photography of visitors in the park will require written consent from the person photographed. We advice that you bring physical consent forms for video recording/photography that you can present to whoever it may concern. If the visitor opposes to being filmed or photographed, this must be respected. It is the film/photography crew’s responsibility to collect and administer the written consent.

  4. It is not possible to drive cars within the park itself. Ekebergparken has its own parking lots for visitors, with an autopay system, as marked on our map (see map here). In addition to this, there is also a parking lot outside of the Ekeberg Restaurant. Use of this parking lot must be agreed upon with the restaurant directly. You can find the contact information for the restaurant here.

  5. Should you need help with fascillitating the shoot, or need any particular aide from the the park (i.e. access to electricity etc.) this must be agreed upon in advance. In such a scenario the park will need to do a walk through of the proposed area to assess the possibilities available. There will be a separate fascillitation fee for this that accompanies any additional fees for the rent of electricity. Please let us know as early as possible in advance if you require any fascillitation.

  6. The parks asks to be informed of when and where a film- or photography shoot will take place, so that we are aware of what is happening in the park. Please contact us on info@ekebergparken.com.
