During Oslo Culture Night five texts inspired by traditional poems from the Sangam period will be performed on the Ekeberg staircase. In the texts, physical coastal and desert landscape transforms into metaphors and imagery of human emotions. In «Voices of the Desert & Sea» the poems are performed in a modernized monologue, before being recited in its original tamil language. The event is organized and performed by The Great Indian Food Tour, an Oslo-based venture that works to bring Indian culture to audiences through storytelling and cuisine. This time focusing solely on the storytelling and its long tradition. Cast: Anisha Ghosh as Thalaivi (The Lone Watcher), Vidya Natarajan as Thozhi (The Witness), Karthiraj Mani as Thalaivan (The Seafarer), Radha as Thaai (The Mother), and Ananth as Paanan (The Herald).
